Luffy forms that appeared in One Piece

As a fictional character from the popular manga and anime series One Piece, Luffy has several forms that he has taken on over the course of the series. Here are some of the most notable forms:

Gear 2

This is Luffy's ability to increase his blood flow and enhance his speed, strength, and agility.
The side effect of this state is that Luffy will get tired and hungry faster when using it. However, after the timeskip, this drawback has been overcome. After the timeskip, Luffy was able to "mix" Gear 2 with Busoshoku Haki and even use Gear 2 immediately.

Gear 3

Luffy inflates his bones like a balloon, increasing his size and strength. With the addition of Haki, Gear 3 becomes even more powerful. Luffy first shows Haki wrapped in Gear 3 when he confronts Kraken during the Island Island arc. But Gear 3 also has its downside, as its limbs are so large it will make Luffy lose his agility, trouble moving unless he is in Fusen form. After the timeskip, he developed even more powerful Gear 3.

Gear 4 Boundman

Boundman is the first Gear 4 form Luffy uses. The key to activating Gear 4 is that Luffy covers his arm with Haki before blowing, then he also blows into his muscles. In Boundman form, Luffy can't even stand still but always bounces on the ground like a ball.

Gear 4 Tankman

First introduced during Luffy's battle with Yonko Big Mom, Gear 4 Tankman allows Luffy to transform into a large and extremely sturdy form.

Although Gear 4 Tankman is a very powerful form, it also has a major drawback that when using it, Luffy will expend a lot of energy and become so heavy and slow that it will be difficult for him to move. and easily become the target of attacks from the opponent.

Gear 4 Snakeman

Gear 4 Snakeman's strengths are speed and flexibility, allowing Luffy to move quickly and attack enemies from many different directions.

However, the weakness of this technique is that the attack power is not as strong as the Gear 4 Boundman and is also easily broken if the enemy has the ability to fight from a distance.

Nightmare Luffy

Nightmare Luffy is the form Luffy attained using the power of the Shadows Asgard mask, produced by Gecko Moria and his minions. Wearing this mask, Luffy becomes a giant creature with invincible strength, amazing enhancement abilities, and the ability to deal with the strongest enemies.
However, when Luffy uses the Shadows Asgard mask to transform into Nightmare Luffy, he loses control and has no free spirit.

Gear 5

Though not yet seen in the anime or manga, there has been speculation about what this form could be and what abilities it might give Luffy.
